At Ava Dance Centre, we believe that dancing is about more than “just steps”. It is an incredible tool to develop confidence, discipline, self-expression, musicality – and most importantly – have fun.
We welcome all ages and abilities – from the Tiny Tots who are first stepping into the world of dancing to Adults who are up for a new challenge in their routine. We absolutely love to see our students’ progress and the smile on their faces after class.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
ANGELA VLANDYS
Angela’s passion for dancing started at a young age. Growing up she studied Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical and Jazz. Her drive and hard work led her to full-time Ballet training in which she spent two years working with some of the industry’s most sought-after teachers.
Her teaching journey began by studying Primary Education at the University of Wollongong. Soon after, she decided to merge her passion for teaching with her love of dance. That’s when she went on to study for a further two years in Ballet Teaching Studies, obtaining her teaching qualification with the internationally recognised Royal Academy of Dance.
After spending five years teaching and dancing in Melbourne, Angela has returned to Wollongong to open her dream studio Ava Dance Centre.
Angela is committed to improving teaching methods and dance techniques set by industry standards. She highly values the importance of continual growth for both students and staff and, is actively involved in the wider dance community to ensure that students benefit from innovative practices and trends.
